St Neots Remembers….

This year marked the 100th anniversary of the start of World War One and 2nd St Neots Scouts, Cubs and Beavers were very proud to once again be a part of the town’s Remembrance Parade on Sunday November 9th 2014. A two-minute silence was observed and wreaths were laid at the War Memorial in the grounds of The Chapel of St Mary the Virgin, followed by a service in the chapel.

More pictures of the day can be seen in our gallery.

Mayor’s Charities…

We are very happy to announce that we were asked to attend the St Neots Annual Town Council meeting last week at the Priory Centre. As part of a presentation to his chosen charities we received a very generous donation from the Mayor himself.

A huge thank you to Councillor Andrew Hansard from all of us!!!!

WE WANT MORE VOLUNTEERS and YOUNG LEADERS….

We are looking for young, bright awesome and talented leaders to help run and organise the session but with-out having the responsibilities of a Leader or Section Assistant. The young leader needs to be 14 to 16 years of age, with the passion of helping and drive the sessions and promote the scout association and also to help teach the beavers, cubs and scouts. They will help the growth of the sections and teach them what it is to be an awesome beaver, cub and scout and to learn themselves as this is a great reward in them learning to become a Leader themselves for a new group. The young leader will come to the planning session to help plan what the sessions will be, also to help run the sessions and make up awesome new games for the younger society to play. If this sound like you then please go to the contact us and click on volunteer help and follow the link.

Beavers are between 6-8 years of age, Cubs are between 8-10 years of age, scouts are between 10-14 years of age, explorers are the age of 14-16 years of age. We are also looking for adult volunteers who are inspiring and fun and willing to commit a couple of hours of their own time to help run a successful group,  this will help with the smooth running of the session, you will get to have great knowledge of what it is to become a section assistant or leader if you want it, and also learn things that you may of never learnt before, trust me I know, I am always learning things all the time from leaders and young children. With out your help this group would not be able to run and also grow to what we are now but we can grow so much more with your help.

Thank you.
